Although China has removed its famous One Child policy, it must adhere to the basic state policy of family planning. There will continue to be tensions regarding population, resources and environment, according to President Xi Jinping. Xi thinks highly of the family planning association, which provides strong services and helped support families through the process of losing their only child, when the One Child policy was still in place. With the removal of the policy, China’s population of individuals aged 16 to 59 will decrease substantially, and the population of individuals aged 60 and over will grow, according to a report from Renmin University of China.
