China-US Business Deals

The business deals signed during the recent meeting between Chinese and US officials far exceeded the US$253.5 billion signed at the official ceremonies. Aside from these agreements, China Vice Minister of Commerce Yu Jianhua notes the high number of deals that were reached separately involving complex, big-ticket contracts such as chemical and energy import initiatives. “These commercial contracts involve trade and investment projects, with some needing to be implemented immediately and some settled via long-term talks,” states Yu.
