By the end of 2017, Montreal is expected to surpass Vancouver to become the Canadian city with the most Chinese homeowners. This data is based on the number of property searches on Juwai.com, a Chinese international property portal. Last year was the first time that Chinese buyers acquired more than US$130 billion worth of international real estate, according to Juwai.com Chief of Operations Sue Jong. “The 2016 global total represents a 25.4% increase over 2015 and an 845% increase over five years ago. Our forecast suggests 2017 will also be one of the top three years on record,” states Jong.
