Gazprom-China Gas Deal

Gazprom, a Russian gas company, plans to supply gas to China via the east route of the China-Russia natural gas pipeline by May 2019, rather than 2018, which was originally intended. Andrey Kruglov, Gazprom Vice President, is frustrated with the delay, noting that it took almost a year to receive all necessary approvals after the deal was inked in May 2014. Over a period of 30 years, the east route of the pipeline will transport about 38 billion cubic meters of natural gas per year to China.
