China’s Huawei is expecting to see a lower volume of smartphone shipments this year as it focuses more on profit. The company has been trying to sell its most expensive models, which have a much higher profit margin. Huawei’s profit has been under pressure as its low margin smartphone business struggles with fierce competition. Huawei Consumer Business Group CEO Richard Yu expects full year smartphone sales to reach between 140 million and 150 million. Annual sales stood at 139 million smartphones last year, which was up 29% YoY.
