Hyundai Appoints China Head

Hyundai Motor has appointed Tan Tao-hung to lead its China division, and hopes that his Chinese background will help foster relations with local partners. Tan took control of Beijing Hyundai, a JV between Hyundai and China’s BAIC Motor, earlier this month. Tan has replaced Chang Won-shin, who held the position for less than a year. Given Tan’s background, Hyundai is confident that he will be able to improve communication with BAIC which has been less than optimal over the past few years.
