Li Keqiang Discusses US-China Relations

While speaking at an annual news conference, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang discussed the benefits of warm relationships between the US and China, and emphasised how a trade war would hurt US businesses first. “Our hope on the Chinese side is that no matter what bumps the China-U.S. relationship hits, we hope it will continue to move forward in a positive direction”, states Li. Despite tough talk during the campaign period, US President Donald Trump has not followed through with his pledge to impose hefty tariffs on Chinese goods. Still, China is taking precautions and will not rest until Trump’s issues with China are put to bed.
