2017 Forex Rises

China’s foreign exchange reserves rose to their highest levels in more than a year last month, surpassing economists’ expectations. Following 11 consecutive months of gains, reserves hit US$3.14 trillion – up from US$10 billion last November. Economists had expected reserves to rise to only US$3.13 trillion. China’s foreign exchange regulator notes it will keep the country’s foreign exchange reserves and international balance of payments “balanced and stable” in 2018.
