Airbus Manufactures in China

During French President Emmanuel Macron’s visit to China, Airbus inked a deal to increase the number of planes that it manufactures in China. Airbus hopes to produce at least six of its A320 jets every month by 2020 at its assembly plant near Beijing. During his three-day visit, Macron emphasized his determination that the two countries open up to the idea of engaging in business with one another. Currently, Macron worries that France has “access to markets which is unbalanced and unsatisfying.” If this issue is not addressed, he commented that France’s natural reaction will be to “close up on both sides.”
