Chinese Overseas Talent

As numerous Chinese companies invest billions in purchasing overseas rivals and diversifying their business line, investors are encouraging Chinese people living abroad to launch start-ups of their own. “The economy needs to shift to higher-quality production,” states Shan Guangcun, a machine-learning specialist “The government needs talent to come back from overseas, and they are willing to pay for it.” Ten years ago, most Chinese students would have jumped at the opportunity to move to the US to pursue a career, but now, a greater portion of them are choosing to stay home and work in China.
