LKK Invests in “Walkie Talkie” Skyscraper

LKK Health Products Group Ltd., a Chinese herbal health products maker, is interested in purchasing the “Walkie Talkie” skyscraper in London from Land Securities Group plc and Canary Wharf Group plc for about US$2.28 billion. Chinese companies increasingly look to London as an attractive property market, particularly following Brexit. If the investment goes through, the Walkie Talkie building will be LKK’s first property investment outside of China. The building, which was developed as a JV between Land Securities and Canary Wharf Group in 2010, is known for its popular tourist attraction: the Sky Garden.
