Shanghai Welcomes Expo Attendees

More than 400,000 buyers, including representatives from nearly all of China’s SOEs, had the opportunity to meet with more than 3,600 businesses from 172 nations at the China International Import Expo this week. The expo attracted 180 American companies, among which included Johnson and Johnson, Google and General Motors. To welcome the attendees, Shanghai lit up its buildings across town. Roads were closed, local schools and government offices closed for two days and around 300 college students volunteered to direct visitors around the exhibition the size of at least 55 football fields.
